Morning · the village wakes
রাঙামাটি means red earth.
It's the colour of the paths between our cottages, of Purulia's fields and of the painted mud walls of its villages. Rangamati is a small eco resort in Sankupi, at the edge of Matha Forest — fresh air, open lawns, hills on the horizon and an unhurried pace.

Purulia's famous masked dance — drums, acrobatics and painted masks, performed for guests.
Santhali dance
Linked arms, swaying lines and the madal drum — the dance of the Santhal villages around us.
Baul sangeet
Wandering minstrels of Bengal singing songs of love and the road, with ektara and dotara.
